If I were stranded on a desert island and could take one herb with me it would be turmeric. At this point in my herb studies (7th month in a 3 year program) this has been the most remarkable herb. It's shocking that the main thing we use it for in the US is coloring for mustard!

ReplyDeleteAlly-Turmeric is from India! It has a fantastic mellow, bitter flavor and is great in curry. I have taken it in powder (1 tsp up to 3 times a day in warm water) or tincture (get Herb Pharm at whole foods)
